The WISE-Shop Privacy Policy

WISE-shop is the online shop for the Wycombe Islamic Society charity (WISE) and is run on a non-profit basis.  WISE-Shop is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. We use the information we collect about you to help us understand how users interact with the web site and also to send you communications about WISE and its products, either electronically or otherwise. The ‘personally identifiable information’ is information that enables us to identify you, such as your email address, name, title, and address.

1. What personally identifiable information do WISE collect from me?

WISE collects the following information regarding visitors to our website: IP address, information regarding when and what pages are accessed, information volunteered by you, such as survey information, email address and your preferred means of communication.  

WISE does not pass on identity information to third parties and does not sell on lists to others.  

2. How do WISE use my information?

WISE-Shop use the information collected about you to help us with understanding more about how our site is used and to be able to send you communications that may be of interest to you, either electronically or otherwise.  WISE may use such information to contact you for marketing purposes.

When you are on the WISE-Shop website and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with WISE and it’s website-support partners unless stated otherwise. For example, when you are using our secure online payment pages you are going through to a partner company, Paypal, who collect the payment online and have their own privacy policy.

4. With whom do WISE share your information?

As a general rule, WISE will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except when you give permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. When you are using our secure online payment pages you are going through to a partner company and the information you give such as your credit card number and contact information is collected so that the transaction can take place.

If you indicated that you are interested in receiving regular information from WISE, we will send you communications, either electronically or otherwise, regarding the activities and products offered by WISE. In addition, we may (rarely) send you direct mail that we feel may be of interest to you.

WISE do not sell or rent user information to anyone.

6. What is WISE-Shop’s policy on allowing me to update, correct, or delete my personally identifiable information?

The accuracy of your individual identifying information is important to WISE.  We would be most grateful if you would keep your profile updated.  If you change your email address or need to update any other information, please email us at contact@wise-shop.org, or write to WISE, 17 Portland House, Arnison Avenue, High Wycombe HP13 6XR with the details.

7. How do WISE protect my personal identifiable information?

WISE is committed to taking reasonable steps to protect the personal identifying information that you have provided to us.

The safety of children is very important to us. Our website areas relevant to children will not knowingly collect personally identifiable from children. Children should always ask a parent for permission before sending personal information to anyone online.

When you give personal information to WISE, that information may be stored and processed outside of the UK and we take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, WISE cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
